Arduino Advent Calendar Day 15 - Soil Moisture Sensor!
As I write this guide, it's 41ºC at LittleBird HQ and cross Australia today, many plants will die a needless death from dehydration, but thanks to today's guide, yours need not!
Today we're looking at the Moisture Sensor!
What is a Soil Moisture Sensor?
Soil moisture sensors measure the volumetric water content in the soil.
The two large exposed pads function as probes for the sensor, together acting as a variable resistor.
The more water (and salt) in the soil, the lower the resistance.
We're able to measure this change in resistance as a change in voltage.
Yup, enough talking about it let's go and build up the circuit over at guides.littlebird.com.au !
