Arduino Advent Calendar Day 21 - Reed Switch!
Today we're going to look at the Reed Switch.
Close up of Reed Switch
The reed switch invented in 1936 at the Bell Telephone Laboratories is an electrical switch operated by an applied magnetic field.
Inside a reed switch is a pair of ferromagnetic metal contacts that close when a magnetic field is present. When a magnet is brought close, the metal contacts will come together and close, when the magnet is pulled away the contacts will go back to its original position and open the circuit.
Yup, enough talking about it let's go and build up the circuit over at guides.littlebird.com.au !
