Interface a rotary phone dial with a microcontroller

Randy Saragfan from Instructables has described how to interface the dial from a rotary telephone with a PIC 16F877 micrcontroller. The end results with a MCU that can determine which number has been dialled. Although this may seem mundane, Randy's work offers the theory and code to translate to your preferred development environment - with which you can create your own retro-dial projects.
