Play music with a calculator and floppy drive
Using a Texas Instruments TI-83+ calculator, some custom software and hardware - and a floppy disk drive, the people at Cemetech have created what can be described as a very loud and different way of playing tunes. The media player on the calculator has been modified to send pulses to the stepper motor in the floppy drive, with the following results:
Now that modifying old floppy drives is becoming fashionable again, perhaps we recycled those old computers too early.
