The tinyPOV Persistence Of Vision project

For those looking for a simple and fun AVR-based project - the tinyPOV may be your solution. Based on the ATtiny2313 and after uploading the prorgram software, the tinyPOV allows you to enter the words or LED pattern to display using PC-based software, and then download it to the completed tinyPOV. Once this has occurred, you can wave your arm about displaying the effects in the air as such:

Furthermore as the tinyPOV uses the ATtiny2313, the pattern can be stored in the EEPROM - so you don't need to reprogram the whole thing every time you update the display. This then allows the use of a simple serial cable for updates and not an AVR programmer. So for more information, design details and software, visit the tinyPOV page here. And for more news, updates and items of interest.please follow us on twitter, Facebook and Google+.

To build your own tinyPOV we have the ATtiny2313, a range of LEDs and the other components required to reproduce it. So check out our catalogue for the wide range and fast delivery.
