Using a TV remote control as a computer mouse

Vinu from India has created an interesting alternative to using a bluetooth or other wireless mouse, by using an ATmega8 as a base for an infrared to USB interface. It receives signals from a TV infrared remote control and converts them into mouse actions using the virtual-USB library that is available for AVR micontrontrollers. Here is a short demonstration of the project in action:
