RETIRED
This product has been replaced by the USB-Serial Adapter.
Many Arduino boards save expense by leaving off the USB-to-Serial converter, providing a simple serial interface instead using a standard 6-way header. For example, our KitTen and MobSenDat Arduino-compatible boards both use this header. You can then use an FTDI USB-to-Serial cable with multiple boards, using it to load the sketch and then disconnecting it.
The FTDI USB-to-Serial cable comes in both 3.3V and 5V versions to suit different boards, and you need to match the board voltage to the cable voltage.
The KitTen requires a 5V cable.
The MobSenDat requires a 3.3V cable.
