The DS-8325HV digital servo from Power HD is the ultimate high-performance servo: it features high-precision digital electronics, a coreless motor designed for high-voltage applications, and low-backlash titanium gears, and two ball bearings, all packed into a rugged aluminum-magnesium alloy case that is just slightly bigger than a standard servo. It is deceptively strong for its size, beaten only by our much larger giant and monster servos, and it is remarkably fast for such a high-torque servo.
The 8325HV supports pulse rates (also known as update or frame rates) up to 333 Hz. Typically only gyros output such high-frequency servo pulses since this is much faster than one can manually adjust the servo’s position, but if you are using a microcontroller to generate the pulse train, you can take advantage of this higher update rate. (Our micro maestro servo controller, for example, can generate control signals with frequencies as high as 100 Hz.)
Unlike most servos, the DS-8325HV can be powered by up to 7.4 V, which means it can be used with two-cell LiPo packs or six-cell NiMH/NiCd packs. The lead is terminated with a standard “JR”-style connector, which is Futaba-compatible.
